Screening Depends on the Role
Someone helping us set out chairs for one afternoon does not need the same process as someone taking on a higher-trust or more independent role.
We look at the actual duties and use an appropriate level of orientation and screening.

When you volunteer with us
We Want You to Feel Prepared
We want everyone who volunteers to feel supported, informed and appreciated.
Know What You’re Doing
You should have a clear idea of the task and what is expected.
Know Who to Ask
You will have a staff member or volunteer lead to go to with questions.
Get the Right Orientation
Training and orientation should fit the role rather than creating unnecessary paperwork.

We know the time people give to Good Companions matters, and we want volunteers to know it too.
